IS DC NO 1 SALSA CITY IN THE US?

I will not say we are no 1 but it would be hard to find a city that has at least 2 salsa events a night 7 days of the week. Right now we might have too many events going on because it seems like every one is throwing a party. This is good because this makes every promoter step up their game. I like it beacuse SOS can go out to other people's party and not just at ours. I could care less who is throwing the party as long as the music is good and there is no merengue or Bachata played. I do have a problem with some of the promoters here who always are asking for other people'e help but will not help any one else. But you know what they will get their's in the end. I do not have time to worry about the selfishness of some of the promoters , I am trying to get ready for the SOS All Star Salsa cruise 2006. You reap what you sew, Those who do not help others will get what's coming to them absolutely nothing

Women in Salsa

There are going to be 11 women groups at the Women in Salsa at Zanzibar. This night is always one of the biggest nights of the Year. I am excited about it and cannot wait to get photos and to see the hopefully new performances. I hate it when a group does the same routine over and over again. Routines get old real quick and if I had a group I would not do the same one all the time.

Club Salsa

We are going on our 4th week at Club Salsa and the first three weeks have been great . We had a lock and key party and a salsa speed dating party to try to make it easier for people to ask people they do not know to dance. Caribbean Breeze is like the perfect spot for a salsa party. Room to dance, great atmosphere and most important of all they have DJ Andy who knows how to keep you dancing all night long Andy is in Puerto Rico right now but he will be back in time for the Friday salsa madness at Club Salsa. There really is not a place in town on Friday that os going to be playing salsa amd mambo all night long except for Club Salsa. Also Caribbean Breeze makes the best Mojitos in town anf their food is delicious

Editorial Review
If you've ever been out dancing -- swing, salsa, west coast -- you'll notice that many dancers stick with their usual partners and circle of friends. It can be hard to get up the courage to go over and ask someone to dance. One solution: Salsa Speed Dance Dating. Here's how it works: You dance with a random person. Every two minutes or so, you're forced to switch partners and find someone new to dance with. (The DJ will tell you that time is up.) Designed for both beginners and experienced dancers, this sounds like a lot of fun and -- dare we say it? -- a great way to meet new people. Salsa Speed Dance Dating takes place at Caribbean Breeze in Ballston; send a message to DJ Go Go Early (gogoearl@gmail.com) if you'd like to participate, then arrive by 10:30. Selected drinks are $5.50 all night.
